Happiness Is a State of Mind …

Most of the time, when we’re suffered, we go out and seek for outside support. It might be a sort of entertainment to give us a thrill or sort of advice from friends or counselors. Surely outside support can help us feel better but only gives us a temporary relief. If the suffering is deep, it’s still there somewhere in our heart and haunts us.

In the famous book “How to win friends and influence people”, Dale Carnegie said “Happiness doesn’t depend on outward conditions. It depends on inner conditions.” A supporting example he gave. One day he was walking up the Railroad station in Long Island New York, he was so surprised when seeing 30 or 40 crippled boys laughing happily. Have you ever thought if one day you lose something significant like these kids, would you be happy again? Have you ever come across someone who faces a critical incident of their life and just never able to overcome it? Or some even find suicide to escape themselves. Literally kids have an ability to be contended and happy from the inside. The more we grow up, the more we outsource our happiness to the outer world and lose that ability. And when things go wrong, we completely collapse.

True happiness requires a lot of inner works. As for me, doing meditation and taking a spiritual path are one of the ways. Doing meditation allows you to still my mind and look deeply inside of you. You’ll realize all the relationships and all the things happened in your life; they are all there for a reason. Whenever you can answer these questions “Who am I? And why do I come to this world?”, you’ll see you’re the person responsible for everything that happened to you. If you want to change your life, the first thing you gotta start is to change your inside to be better. It’s the law of attraction and the law of karma.

If your happiness depends totally on the external factors: money, success, appearance, relationships, etc. those may be uncertain & unsustainable. Only when you can learn to be happy and love yourself unconditionally, you’ll know to love other people compassionately. It’s when you’re able to build up your true inner strength, true resilience as you know whatever the world outside, you’re able to get back on your feet. It’s when you’re able to achieve a true tranquility inside of you. No feeling of insecurity. No feeling of anxiety.
