I have to thank you my dad for instilling in me the love of books. When I was little, he bought a lot of books for me and my brother to read, from comic to poem, literary fiction, science fiction. I will make sure to do the same thing for my future kids also

These days, my most enjoyable moment of a week is Friday evening, when I lie down lazily on my bed, forget everything about work and life, just listen to audiobooks (to be honest many times I do fall asleep while listening haha). This gives me a much more relaxing feeling than watching movies as spending a whole day in front of a laptop already burnt me out.

One of my most favorite types of books ever is about the world’s influential people such as world great leaders and well-known scientists. I guess the most touching story I ever read is about the life of Abraham Lincoln, his life and characters are truly inspirational and remarkable. And below are my other favorites. They are not popular but for me, they’re worth reading.

1. Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East

I gotta thank you my previous co-worker a lot when lending me this book 6 years as it truly took me on a spiritual journey where I could find my inner peace and find myself happier today.

One of the biggest lessons I learned from this book is the laws of karma which govern everything in your life. If you believe in this law, you could never intentionally hurt anyone or damage anyone’s benefits as you know they will return to you, in the end, sooner or later. One thing, don’t ever think if you do something secretly, nobody knows then you’ll be ok haha, nope the law of karma will know it.

You might think it’s religious or suspicious, in fact, I truly believe it’s true as I myself have witnessed it many times. And it can be explained in physics by the Newton law, if object A exerts a force on object B, then object B must exert a force of equal magnitude and opposite direction back on object A.

When a person came into this world, your life will be governed & controlled by this law negatively or positively. If you think your life is suffering and you want to change it, there’s a way for that. According to this book, one of the best ways is to become a good person and do a lot of good deeds to help people in need. Of course, these actions should be purely come from the compassion of your heart.

→ Really suggest this book to anyone who is finding the meaning of your life. Anyone who doesn’t feel happy with your current life and with who you are. This might help you to find the answer and take you on a journey of discovering yourself

2. The Hidden Message in Water

60%-70% of your body is water and there’s a correlation between your thoughts and waters in your body. And the author has made tons of scientific experiments to back for this conclusion. When you generate positive thoughts of love, gratitude, you’re making tremendous benefits to your physical and mental health and all the people surrounding you and vice versa. Your body believes every self-thought you say, so try not to say something negative

→ Really suggest this book to everyone

3. The Art of Communicating

There’re a lot of things you can learn from this book but the main lesson I took out is always communicating with love and passion. This’s not only for communicating with others but for yourself as the person you spend time with the most is yourself. You are what you think you are, so always water yourself and others with love and kindness. Another lesson learned is to solve suffering and anger or conflict in a relationship, you should go deeper to the root of the issue and try to understand it and turn it with love and compassion.

The most powerful saying you can tell a person “I’m always here for you”, of course, it means in both good and bad times.

→ Really suggest this to anyone in a relationship, about to get into a relationship, or everyone wanting to have a harmonious life with others

I’m learning to master these lessons also as it’s easy to say but not easy to do haha. Sometimes we get pissed off, it’s not easy to control our temper at that moment. But if you’re aware of this, you can rethink the situation to see if you’re solving a conflict with love and compassion, not selfishness or ego.

4. Limitless

I came to this book when reading a very inspirational life story of the author, Jim Kwik. Even suffering from a brain injury during childhood with lots of learning challenges, Kwik has invented a technique to teach thousands of people to learn and read faster.

What I learn from this book is the only limit in your mind, you can learn anything or be anyone if you believe in yourself. It’s all about mindset

5. Rich dad and poor dad

This book is very popular, it taught me the basic principles of money that I think all parents should teach their kids. It really inspired me to become an entrepreneur also.

Happy weekend and Happy reading!
