“Let your smile change the world, but don’t let the world change your smile.”

It is said that the smile of a kid is always the most beautiful one in the world as it’s so real and genuine. Probably through the eyes of a child, the world is so simple and beautiful. There is no hate, no revenge, no sorrow, no hesitation. In their innocent eyes, the world seems so fascinating and full of passion. Everything is new. Everything is interesting and everyone is a possible friend.

But when you grow up, when you are tainted with experience and deal with so many things in life, it seems the innocence in your smile are shattered. When you smile, your eyes don’t look pure anymore. And sometimes your smile is not because you’re happy, it might be because you try to or pretend to. That’s when you smile but there’s no real joy in your eyes as deep inside, you don’t have the feeling of real happiness. And for some people, you can see sadness or emptiness in their eyes, a sorrow or a pain of their past that they didn’t get over.

A few years ago, I read some materials talking about Human physical appearance in recruitment and I really love this sentence “ Your inner self reflects your outward self”. It can be understood that when you look at the physical outward of a person, you will feel partly about their life, what they have been through, and what they are going through as well. You can even guess their personalities. All things we have done and things we have been through, good or bad, it will affect and change our appearance time by time, which sometimes you don’t even recognize. Or in other words, your inner self will be somehow reflected through your physical appearance.

Have you looked and compared the image of you 10 years or 5 years ago to your current one? Do you see the difference in your smile? Do you see the difference in your outward self? and wonder how would you look like in 5 years or 10 years later? Whatever you’ve been through or will be, don’t let the world change your smile, let your smile change the world!

(P/S: I wrote this note 5 years ago, under the process of recollecting my old notes, I found it. It was written based on the real story of a person I knew at that time ^0^)
